Political debate on YouTube: revitalization or degradation of democratic deliberation?

It seems to be an established fact that social media multiplies the possibilities for civil society express its points of view and intervene in debate about matters public interest. However, this greater participation political discourse through such platforms does not always translate into improvement quality democratic deliberation. The aim research is examine characteristics comments conversations on YouTube a pre-election period determine whether discursive interaction contributes strengthening system or if, contrary, detrimental it. Adopting quantitative–qualitative approach, content analysis critical are combined 471 collected from most viewed videos month before Andalusian elections held 2 December 2018. Resumen Las redes sociales multiplican las posibilidades de la sociedad expresar sus opiniones e intervenir en el sobre asuntos interés público. Este hecho parece constatado.
